Shielded RFID Blocking Badge Holder
Why do Smart Cards need special holders?
Smart cards are convenient. No more needing to keep pulling your ID in and out of its holder to swipe for access. Now you can just tap your badge to the reader for access. They can hold all your data in one card instead of requiring multiple cards.
There is a down side to this constant transmission of data though. Unlike mag stripes and bar codes that are only active when you are physically swiping them smart and proximity cards can always be transmitting data. That’s where these holders come into play. They block the constant transmission of data from your ID. With these holders you can control when your ID is transmitting data and when it is not. These holders are FIPS-201 approved to shield your card. Now when you are wearing your ID around the office it is acting like a plain PVC ID card.
To transmit the encoded data, all you need to do is slide your card slightly out of the holder.
This holder is slotted so that it can be worn either vertically or horizontally. The slots also allow for these holders to easily attach to lanyards, strap clips, key rings, and wrist coils. The slots work with most end attachments such as a swivel hook or a strap clip.
